Your responsibilities will include managing and supervising psychiatric services, developing comprehensive policies and procedures, and collaborating closely with clinical and administrative leaders to enhance patient care, compliance, staff competence, and overall staff morale. Responsibilities
- Oversee crisis management and triaging efforts, ensuring appropriate and timely action for patients at risk (e.g., identifying suicidal ideation or self-harm risks and coordinating referrals to emergency services, inpatient facilities, or community resources)
- Create, implement, and monitor adherence to policies related to psychiatric services such as medication prescribing, monitoring for side effects, integration with other medical services, and psychotherapy for those interested
- Review and revise the psychiatric documentation in the clinic's electronic medical record
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of high quality, mission-driven psychiatric providers
- Supervise psychiatric providers (psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners) as needed
- Participation and leadership in provider meetings, including high risk rounds, staff meetings, and budget and operational meetings
- Lead regular supervision and strategic planning sessions
- Design, build, implement and supervise psychiatric and psychiatric NP training programs
- Create and serve as the clinical lead for an Incident Review Committee
- At least 25% of their time per week dedicated to direct patient care unless otherwise directed by senior leadership
Qualifications
- Board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with active New York or California state license in good standing
- 3+ years of experience, telehealth experience preferred but not required
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical formulation, and treatment skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to support clinical operations in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
- Strong leadership abilities and flexibility to work successfully with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, including provider scheduling, service delivery, and compliance.
- Experience working with EHR systems and other healthcare technologies preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a rapidly growing organization.
- Organizational rigor and a propensity for data driven decision making that will drive operational success for providers and patients.
