As our Senior Accountant, you'll be reporting to our Controller and working closely with several other departments within the company. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaborate across departments to meet tight deadlines.
Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Vancouver HQ on a 14-month maternity leave contract. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the month-end process, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
As our Senior Accountant, you'll be reporting to our Controller and working closely with several other departments within the company. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaborate across departments to meet tight deadlines.
Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000
What You'll Do:
Month-End Close
- Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting.
- Proactively manage deadlines through clear communication and efficient time management.
- Guarantee adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
- Prepare Accurate Working Papers and Account Reconciliations:
- Manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities, including sub-ledger reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and key balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review invoices, payments, deployments, and other investment activities to ensure accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
- Post journal entries, such as accruals, prepaids, and adjustments, maintaining accuracy and completeness in all entries.
- Analyze and interpret variances in income statements and balance sheets, providing clear explanations to support decision-making.
Financial Reporting and Auditing
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE accounting standards.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to support financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in preparing year-end audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
- Work closely with the Controller to plan and execute the annual audit process.
Ad Hoc Tasks
- Participate in cross-functional projects to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
- Provide guidance to other accounting staff when needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Enrollment in CPA would be considered an asset
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication & organization skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
