The Saginaw Facility is soon to be the 2nd largest wheat flour milling facility in the United States producing 34,000cwts of flour (3.4 Million Pounds of Flour) per day! The Quality Manager is responsible for managing food safety, quality systems and leading the sanitation evaluations of the facility. This position requires management of company policies, customer standards, government regulations, and relationships. This position is part of the core leadership team of the facility.
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annually

The Quality Manager is responsible for managing food safety, quality systems and leading the sanitation evaluations of the facility. This position requires management of company policies, customer standards, government regulations, and relationships. This position is part of the core leadership team of the facility.
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annually
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities in the plant quality/laboratory department, including the direct supervision of all department employees.
- Lead the quality and food safety management systems and programs to ensure compliance with FDA, customer, GFSI, HACCP and internal requirements.
- Work with technical sales team to establish customer specifications each crop year and ensure products meet specifications.
- Interface with customers and other team members to provide timely follow up to customer complaints and quality related documentation requests.
- Conduct customer, 3rd party, and company audits for compliance and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Comply with established data quality control protocols, investigate and rectify discrepancies.
- Ensure laboratory standards are prepared according to established protocols and used as prescribed in the laboratory protocols to validate instrument operation.
- Ensure instrument calibration and maintenance is conducted as prescribed, verify results, and maintain records of each instrument for which calibration procedures have been established.
- Active participant in wheat mix management and elevator operations as needed.
- Assist with companywide employee training programs.
- Actively participate in plant safety, environmental and sustainability efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in related field, degree related to Food Science, Grain Science, or Baking preferred.
- 3+ years of progressively responsible quality and/or laboratory experience in food manufacturing with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of major commercial software programs.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of key concepts for personal and food safety.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to influence across all directions of the organization without direct line authority.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Requires a behavioral work style that is approachable, collaborative, hands-on and shows attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food plant sanitation, pest control, cGMP's and microbiological hazards.
- HACCP and PCQI certification recommended or will be provided.
