The Executive Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction is a strategic leader dedicated to elevating instructional quality and fostering student achievement in grades Pre-K through 5. This role oversees curriculum and instructional practices across all content areas, guiding district initiatives to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Through collaboration with district leaders, instructional staff, and community partners, the Executive Director builds cohesive, evidence-based educational pathways that prepare students for academic success, from early childhood through the elementary years.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Drive Curriculum Excellence Across All Content Areas
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of district-wide curriculum, aligning with best practices to support high-quality instruction and student success.
  • Establish and monitor curriculum delivery standards to ensure instructional consistency, rigor, and alignment with district goals for elementary education.

Advance Early Learning Pathways to Ensure Kindergarten Readiness
  • Develop and implement cohesive strategies that integrate early learning programs from birth through Pre-K, ensuring continuity and preparedness for kindergarten.
  • Lead initiatives to foster foundational skills in early learners, supporting their social, emotional, and academic readiness for elementary education.
  • Collaborate with early childhood educators, community partners, and families to build environments conducive to early childhood development.

Lead Equitable Gifted Services
  • Oversee the identification, support, and academic programming for gifted students, ensuring fair access to high-quality services and resources.
  • Direct specialized teacher training in gifted education, advancing instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of gifted learners and enhancing their academic growth.

Strengthen Instructional Leadership Across the District
  • Mentor and guide directors, coordinators, and instructional leaders, fostering a shared understanding of high-impact teaching and learning practices.
  • Track the quality and effectiveness of curriculum implementation across schools, evaluating its alignment with district educational goals and making data-driven adjustments as needed.

Align Professional Development with Curriculum and Instruction Goals
  • Collaborate with district leadership to design and deliver targeted professional development aligned with instructional priorities and educator needs.
  • Ensure that all training initiatives empower teachers with the skills necessary to implement curriculum effectively and support student learning.
Establish and Track Performance Metrics for Educational Success
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators to assess the impact of curriculum and instructional initiatives on student outcomes.
  • Utilize data insights to drive continuous improvement, making informed adjustments to instructional practices and curriculum to enhance overall effectiveness.

Engage Stakeholders in Collaborative, District-Wide Initiatives
  • Lead large-scale instructional initiatives that involve multiple stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments and ensuring consistent program implementation.
  • Build partnerships with district leadership, families, and community organizations to align resources, support programs, and strengthen educational outcomes for all students.

Promote Research-Based Educational Strategies
  • Stay current on educational research, actively participating in professional development and peer collaborations to bring best practices to the district.
  • Integrate proven instructional methods and curriculum models that support the district's mission and vision, promoting innovative and effective teaching practices.

Oversee Compliance and Policy Development
  • Ensure all instructional programs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as district policies, maintaining alignment with educational standards.
  • Collaborate with district leadership to develop and revise curriculum policies that support educational goals and equity.

Lead Departmental Operations and Resource Allocation
  • Manage budgeting, staffing projections, and resource allocations for the curriculum and instruction department, ensuring efficient use of human and financial resources.
  • Pursue alternative funding opportunities, including grants, to support and enhance curriculum initiatives and instructional strategies
MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree required
  • Specialists or higher preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification at a level 5 or higher
  • Educational Leadership or Instructional/Curriculum Leadership preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration, supervision, or leadership roles, with specific expertise in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and master scheduling (K-12 setting preferred).

Pay Grade : 140
