Job Title: Senior Vice President of Pharmacy
Reports to: Chief Pharmacy Officer
FLSA: Exempt
Work Schedule: Schedule to be determined by supervisor based on needs of the department, position, and program requirements. Other hours and/or days as needed to ensure that the department is operational and serving patients.
Overview of the Position:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO), the Senior Vice President of Pharmacy is responsible for pharmacy strategy and tactical plans of the retail pharmacy department and assists with 340B compliance. Responsible for aligning strategy to achieve business goals and build a culture of accountability with people who are results driven, innovative and committed to excellence. Ensure excellence in customer service, 340B compliance and fiscal performance.
Education and Experience:
Required Skills / Abilities:
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and general computer skills.
Experience with Pioneer Pharmacy system preferred.
Ambitious and confident change-agent; challenging conventional thinking, approach and methodology, strong advocacy, and organizational navigation skills.
Complex and innovative problem-solving, analytical, critical, and strategic thinking capabilities; knows how to create options and then converge on solutions.
Excellent leadership experience managing multiple opportunities at any given time.
Essential Job Functions:
Evaluates and examines all pharmacies in the company to ensure compliance with applicable laws, 340B requirements and Company policies and procedures.
Oversee and maintain pharmacy productivity by working with the Pharmacist in Charge at each location and the Director of Pharmacy Operations allocating resources and delegating tasks appropriate to employee skills.
Proactively solves problems and asks appropriate questions.
Oversee accountability of the team to ensure customer service is held to the highest standard.
Oversee 340B compliance at retail locations and contract pharmacy locations.
Oversee URAC/ACHC Accreditation including but not limited to Performance Improvement Committee.
Oversee all aspects of opening new pharmacy locations and annual requirements for existing pharmacy locations including but not limited to:
Completing and renewing all appropriate state and federal licenses
Working with pharmacy wholesaler to open new pharmacy accounts
Completing all third-party enrollments for new locations and annual attestations required
Coordinating and supporting all vendor relationships needed to operate a pharmacy
Working with CPO and legal to review third party contracts and amendments
Ensuring all 340B requirements are completed and reviewed at a minimum of annually
NCPDP accuracy and annual renewal
Develop agenda for pharmacy meetings and prepares for all standing meetings ie: HepC, HIV, Pharmacy Ops.
Develop and communicate goals and metrics to pharmacy locations including inventory and 340B management.
Develop and support contract pharmacy relationships.
Participate in the 340B Compliance Committee.
Responsible for each pharmacy location's financial performance and annual metrics as established by Company Leadership and Board of Directors.
Anticipate pharmacy needs and establish priorities and courses of action to meet corporate objectives.
Responsible for ensuring that the pharmacy is functioning at maximum capacity and meets all regulatory requirements, patient safety standards, and internal control requirements.
Ensure that all policies and standard operating procedures are provided, reviewed at a minimum annually and followed by all locations.
Lead and participates with multidisciplinary groups at the corporate, division and pharmacy level to ensure key quality and operational initiatives are aligned with Company objectives.
Understand and stay abreast of 340B requirements and changes.
Communicates company policies and expectations in a clear, concise manner via verbal or written form with team members.
Develop, implement, and train compliance and operational policies and procedures for scalability.
Participate in and leads teleconferences and other meetings as requested.
Provide written and oral reports to CPO on business developments and/or pharmacy performance and needs as requested.
Travel between pharmacies conducting monthly or bi-monthly reviews of pharmacy operations.
Monitor trends in pharmacy automation.
Stays abreast of market conditions regarding products, product updates, and service offerings through available resources.
Proactively initiates and serves as project manager for special projects related to the operations of HopeHealth Pharmacies and HopeHealth.
Anticipate needs and is a forward thinker.
Maintain a positive working relationship with all vendors.
Support and assist with the integration of any potential acquisitions.
Remains on-call 24/7.
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and standards, as well as the spirit of the company's core values and goals.
Identify and implement industry best practices to optimize pharmacy performance.
Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in all areas of work.

- Minimum of five years pharmacy leadership-level operational experience, with comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning tools and techniques utilized for delivering growth strategy.
- Minimum of three years of experience opening, buying and operating multiple retail pharmacy locations. Must have experience operating more than ten pharmacy locations.
- Minimum of five years of 340B experience.
- Experience in enabling business growth, with knowledge development of strategic planning model with focus on positive measurable health outcomes and revenues.
- Experience directing customer focused organizations and driving high performance of individuals in operations and sales experience-related activities, including coaching, and mentoring direct/indirect reports to develop requisite business and consumer-centric skills for a successful career in the field.
- Complex and innovative problem-solving, analytical, critical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent leadership experience managing multiple opportunities at any given time.
- PharmD degree and Licensed Pharmacist, in good standing. in South Carolina required
