ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Drive Curriculum Excellence Across All Content Areas
- Oversee curriculum and instruction for all secondary content areas, including Health/PE, ensuring alignment with best practices and the district's educational goals.
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum to support high-quality instruction and student success in grades 6-12.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum delivery and instructional strategies, adjusting as needed to promote academic excellence.
Promote High-Quality Teaching and Learning
- Provide leadership to directors, coordinators, and other instructional leaders to ensure a shared understanding of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote rigorous instruction, equitable access to resources, and improved student outcomes.
- Collaborate with secondary school principals to align instructional goals and foster effective teaching practices.
Lead Professional Development and Support
- Collaborate with district leadership to design and deliver professional development aligned with instructional priorities for secondary education.
- Empower teachers and instructional leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to implement curriculum effectively.
- Facilitate training for Health/PE educators to ensure comprehensive, standards-based programming.
Foster Equity and Student Success
- Ensure all students have access to high-quality, inclusive curriculum and instruction that meets diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce achievement gaps and support historically underserved student populations.
- Advocate for secondary students' academic and social-emotional success through aligned curriculum and instructional initiatives.
Track and Measure Performance Metrics
- Establish and analyze key performance indicators to assess the impact of curriculum and instructional programs on secondary student achievement.
- Use data to inform continuous improvement and recommend evidence-based instructional adjustments.
Collaborate with Stakeholders and Promote Innovation
- Work closely with district leadership, secondary principals, and community partners to build cohesive instructional pathways from middle to high school.
- Lead large-scale instructional initiatives that promote innovative teaching and learning strategies aligned with the district's vision.
Ensure all secondary instructional programs meet local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage budgets and resources for curriculum and instruction initiatives in secondary education, ensuring efficient and equitable allocation
- Oversee Compliance and Resource Management.
MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Master's degree required
- Specialists or higher preferred
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification at a level 5 or higher
- Educational Leadership or Instructional/Curriculum Leadership preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration, supervision, or leadership roles, with specific expertise in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and master scheduling (K-12 setting preferred).
