Position Summary
This position works closely with the management of the BPD in providing professional supervision to Civil Engineers and Information Technology staff working to advance the department goals to use data driven project management and asset management concepts, practical design, and performance measures for planning and design of the state's multi-model transportation program. The Chief assists the Director and Deputy in developing policy and strategy with respect to project management and asset management and is responsible for ensuring consistency across all areas of the division with respect to implementing, training, testing and refining the department's project management and asset management approach for data collection techniques and decision support systems. This position also oversees the use of Design Engineering software as part of the project delivery process.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/pay range 81-02. The starting salary is between $115,398 and $118,643 annually, depending on qualifications. Pay for current employees will be in accordance with the compensation plan. A 2 year career executive trial period is required.

Moving expenses may also be awarded to the selected candidates.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:
- A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if the PE registration is from another state.
- Experience working on transportation projects (Examples may include: civil engineering experience on transportation improvement projects in design, construction, repair, or reconstruction of roadways or bridges as a project leader, project manager, or as a supervisor.)
