This full-time permanent Career Executive position is located within the Bureau of Information Technology (BITS) within the Division of Business Management (DBM) and is headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin . We are also conveniently located close to the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the Hilldale Mall .
This position allows the option to work remotely up to 3 days per week. All employees are expected to work within the State of Wisconsin. This position will be required to come into the office for training, meetings and/or operational needs at least 2 days per week. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
This position supervises and manage day-to-day operations of staff and contractors supporting Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Division of State Patrol (DSP) business areas in the BITS Application Development Support DMV/DSP Section - Core Support Unit. This position also oversees unit project teams and directs unit operations. This position effectively negotiates timelines, resources, and other issues with section management, other IT partners, and business area customers. In addition, the position participates in assessing candidate portfolio projects and providing workload estimates required to complete them. This position helps analyze, develop, implement, champion, and review policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures related to unit application development environments, tools, and processes for web- and mainframe-based systems.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (70-02) with an annual salary of $110,240 - $123,240 (or $53 to $59.25 per hour), plus excellent benefits . A 2-year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

- Serving in a leadership role for an IT team (leading/managing team projects/initiatives, mentoring/providing training to staff, delegating work assignments, etc.)
- Collaborating/negotiating with various IT technical staff members/business partners to evaluate business needs
- Working with vendors on contract management processes for IT services
- Managing or leading projects utilizing any of the following methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.)
- Formal IT supervisor experience (staffing, performance management, assigning/monitoring workloads, workforce planning, etc.)
- Working with an application development team to provide support using application development technologies (such as Mainframe, COBOL, CA-Gen, REST, SOAP, Oracle, DB2, Geographic Information System (GIS), Web Application development (Java, .NET, Angular)).
- Supporting enterprise applications for a large company/organization.
- Developing/implementing solutions using modern tools that support customer business/technical strategies/goals.
