JOB SUMMARY:
The Unified Communications (UC) Engineer III is responsible for understanding and helping to provide the design, deployment, and support of the enterprise-wide Unified Communications infrastructure. This role involves managing both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, with a focus on Unified Communications (UC) platforms, communication, voice, video, and collaboration tools. The position requires expertise in deploying and integrating multiple existing UC solutions to enhance communication and collaboration across the organization. UC Engineer III should also have an understanding of cloud calling services, and associated applications.

Work Schedule: Flexible; On Call, Eligible for Telecommute
Other Requirements: Must be willing to respond to IT related outages on 24/7 basis. Must have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work efficiently, and good working within a team.
Typical duties that may be performed
1. Provide technical support for projects related to Unified Communications
2. Provide technical level communications, relationship building with customers
3. Triage and troubleshoot complex Unified Communications and perform root cause analysis
4. Review and assess design based on technical requirements and/or needs
5. Provide escalation support for other UC Engineers
6. Demonstrate high-level knowledge related to Unified Communications environment
7. Perform analysis of telephony/voice/video/UC/network issues and provide crisis level management
8. Assist team in day-to-day maintenance of UC infrastructure
9. Engage other infrastructure teams for open issues or initiatives
10. Create bill of materials (BOM) as needed for projects
11. Follows proper change control policies to implement changes to environment
12. Review system health and monitoring tools and diagnose as necessary
13. Provide regular status reports on tasks completed, current issues, and progress towards goals
14. Rotate 24/7 on call with the team

- Cisco Cert Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Cert Network Professional (CCNP) Preferred
- Microsoft Cert Professional (MCP) Preferred)
- Professional Cloud Certification (Preferred)
Work Experience :
- 6 Years of Experience: Working in unified communications and/or networking in a large enterprise environment as a network or voice engineer
- 4 Years of Experience: Experience in Cisco Unified Communications, including voice and video applications. Hands on experience with voice routers, CUBE's, and other networking devices related to Unified Communications infrastructure. Some knowledge of cloud calling preferred. Extensive experience can be substituted for degree/certifications
- 6 Months of Experience: Experience with cloud voice applications, contact center / call center applications and routing. Experience with M365 collaboration tools. Knowledge of cloud-based UC and cloud-based calling functionality (Preferred)
