The Calgary Zone Medical Affairs Portfolio invites applications for the position of Site Lead, RCTP, Sarcee. The Site Lead RCTP Sarcee will report directly to the Medical Director, Subacute Services, Calgary Zone.
Site leader - Sarcee responsibilities will include:
1.Providing leadership to the RCTP program in all matters relating to medical services. This includes be available to provide an on-site presence when required to resolve program concerns.
2.Recruitment of physicians for the RCTP program at their site and meets annually with physicians to review performance.
3.Participates in the AHS periodic reviews as outlined in the AHS bylaws, of physicians working on their RCTP unit.
4.Assure 24/7 coverage of the RCTP programs and provide communication to appropriate units.
5.Manage complaints regarding attending physicians and refer unresolved issues to the Medical Director.
6.Assist in complex family conference especially where there is disagreement with the programs philosophy.
7.Communicate physician concerns regarding perceived allied health staff deficiencies to appropriate Carewest management.
8.Participate in critical review incidents and report to the Medical Director
9.Assist team leaders in proper patient selection for admission
10.Provide consultation and support for client with complex medical needs that prove to be challenging for the care team.
11.Assume care of patients when there is an non-resolvable patient-physician issue
12.Assist in infection control programs
13.Assist with ethical decision making related to clients
14.Mentoring new physicians and teaching medical students and or residents who may be working on these units.
15.Act in the role of Site Leader of Subacute Programs and will report to the Medical Director of Subacute Services.
16.Assist and participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives
17.Participate in appropriate Calgary Hospitalist ARP Meetings.
