Job Summary

The Continuous Improvement Training Analyst will be responsible for leading initiatives supporting organizational efforts to drive continuous improvement training and education. With a strategic and operational training focus, the Continuous Improvement Training Analyst will play a crucial role with leading continuous improvement training initiatives and the development, deployment and oversight of training program and processes, including tools, methods, and systems. The Continuous Improvement Training Analyst will be responsible for preparing strategic analysis, developing solutions that drive operational excellence and making training recommendations to leadership. The role will involve strong collaboration and will lead and serve as a key resource for the business regarding CI training, CI initiative analysis and visualization support, best practice review, overall strategy, improvement and implementation, and ongoing review of performance results. This role will have minimal oversight and supervision on a daily basis.

Essential Functions
  • Initiate training strategies that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence performance across complex processes and multiple departments
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement program initiatives, including tools, techniques, and training
  • Lead the development of training materials and deployment strategies, empowering stakeholders to look for a better way
  • Leads strategic analysis in key areas to identify trends, provide data-driven insights, and influences key actions to remedy on more complex opportunities
  • Develop crisp, polished, executive-level presentations that can be used to communicate performance and present data and information in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
  • Cultivates and develops strategic working relationships with Manager, Director, and VP levels in the organization.
  • Maintain involvement and understanding of high value best practice (internal and external) that are shared with business partners to enhance quality, compliance, efficiency, and safety
  • Demonstrates the ability to challenge the status quo and encourage break-through thinking to ensure continuous improvement is implemented in a manner that supports NiSource goals
  • Independently research and apply leading continuous improvement and lean methodologies and tools
  • Facilitates collaborative meetings with key stakeholders to understand the needs of the business and develop action plans that support continuous improvement
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Continuous evaluation of process, data, timeline effectiveness to provide recommendations on increasing effectiveness of training strategies
  • Monitor, measure and analyze process performance on a continual basis to identify data-driven opportunities for improvement
  • Define, monitor, measure and improve organizational metrics for the organization on an ongoing basis
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to less experienced continuous improvement analysts by reviewing work and providing feedback to analyst work product.


Required Qualifications for Position
  • Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to continuous improvement, business management, data analytics, engineering, or other relevant area
  • 2-5 yrs work experience in strategy, continuous improvement, training, data analytics, operations, finance, or related functional area
  • Ability to conduct workshops, influence decisions and facilitate discussions with leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively network and build strategic partnerships, both internal and external
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analysis (forward thinking) to work product
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to promote change
  • Proven ability to facilitate multiple projects/tasks while meeting deadlines with quality


Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Experience with a BI Software and visualization tool, such as Tableau
  • Experience interpreting and communicating advanced data sets and analysis
  • Knowledge of utility operations (i.e., gas, electric, construction, engineering)
  • Certification in Change Management and/or Project Management certification
  • Six Sigma certification or experience in continuous improvements

Salary Range:
$91,000.00 - $136,600.00
