Summary:
The AVP, Child Health Programs is responsible for the professional leading the strategic programs of the Niswonger Children's Resource Center, Children's Complex Care Program, Strong Pregnancies and Strong Starts system programs and future child health programming as appropriate. The AVP will develop the Center's and all program's role as leading health advocate for pregnant women and children in the Appalachian Highlands. This includes, but is not limited to operational development, assisting with the establishment of new site and community partners, management of operations of all sites within their area of responsibility, and creating structure and processes to manage the Center's and program's current activities and projected growth. The AVP will be responsible for providing leadership, evaluating performance, recommending promotions and disciplinary action for Center and program staff. The AVP will provide day-to-day consultation with the Regional President, Niswonger Children's Hospital CEO and the VP, Health Programs for goal and objective setting, strategy development, budget development, and program/service implementation. In addition, the AVP will participate in the coordination of management services provided to various clients, act as the spokesperson for child health programming, raising the visibility of child health programming across the region and TN/VA, and assurance of professional relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, community partners and state leadership.
The AVP will also serve on community, state, and/or national boards/committees representing the system and advocating for child health improvement and best practice programming. The AVP is responsible for ensuring that Ballad policies are consistently observed and for the development and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures. This position is responsible for meeting annual operating goals, conserving resources and monitoring expenditures to ensure they remain within budget guidelines. The AVP is responsible for maintaining the qualified staff needed to provide quality service. This position is accountable for maintaining technical expertise and for development of leadership skills through ongoing education. The AVP must be self-motivated and serve as a strong team leader and coach.
Requirements:
Master's degree in business, child health, organizational development, community health, public health or other related field required, and minimum of 5 years in a leadership position. In lieu of Master's degree, candidates with 8-10 years of leadership experience may be considered.
Licenses and Certifications:
This position will be required to update technical expertise and to develop management/leadership skills through continuing education throughout tenure in this position
