Information Technology is an integral part of the strategic initiatives for all the core business functions at IFC. Within Corporate Information and Technologies (CIT), Data Engineering, AI and Platforms (CITDE) organization provides comprehensive data solutions for IFC's various functions, such as Economics & Private Sector Developments, Global Industries, Climate Business, Treasury and Mobilization, any many more. A robust engagement model with business ensures prioritization of the business requirements & focus on delivery. The solution landscape encompasses a wide variety of in-house and customized data applications, AI/ML solutions and scaled capabilities which meet the business needs of IFC departments.
Data Engineering, AI & Platforms (CITDE) is seeking a Product Owner for our corporate intranet and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive the development and optimization of our intranet platform, ensuring it supports the needs of our organization, enhances employee experience, and fosters knowledge-sharing. You will also take the lead in managing our internal search engine, ensuring it is effective, efficient, and optimized for both user experience and discoverability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Information & technology (CIT), knowledge team, content creators, and business stakeholders, to define product requirements, prioritize feature development, and execute on the roadmap. This role requires a mix of strong technical acumen, a deep understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) principles, and a passion for delivering excellent digital experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Define, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog for the intranet platform, ensuring features meet business needs and user expectations.
Work closely with IT teams to ensure the intranet platform's security, scalability, and performance.
Continuously monitor user feedback and usage metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Lead SEO strategy for internal search tools and the corporate intranet to improve discoverability and ensure content is easily accessible to employees.
Collaborate with content teams to ensure that all content is properly tagged, indexed, and optimized for search.
Use SEO best practices to drive improvements in the internal search engine and contribute to the overall usability of the intranet.
Analyze search behavior and performance data to recommend and implement improvements to the internal search engine experience.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Knowledge, IT, UX/UI, content, HR, legal, etc.) to develop and refine product features and initiatives.
Lead regular product meetings, track progress against KPIs, and ensure alignment with business goals.
Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to key stakeholders at all levels.
Selection Criteria
Master's degree in computer science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Machine Learning with 6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or similar role, with a focus on intranet platforms, internal tools, or search engine optimization.
Strong understanding of SEO principles, including indexing, ranking algorithms, keyword research, and optimization techniques.
Experience with intranet platforms, content management systems (CMS), and enterprise search engines.
Proven ability to work in an Agile environment and manage product backlogs, define user stories, and prioritize features.
Technical proficiency to understand, evaluate, and communicate with development teams about product needs and technical solutions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and present ideas clearly.
Experience with enterprise intranet platforms like SharePoint, Confluence, or similar.
Familiarity with search platforms such as Elasticsearch or Microsoft Search.
Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and SEO tools (e.g., Moz, SEMrush).
Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner) is a plus.
Experience in driving digital transformation or employee experience initiatives.
