SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the President, the vice president for finance and administration (VPFA) is responsible for financial and administrative services and personnel. The VPFA supervises the following areas: controller's office including accounts payable; student accounts; human resources; operations including IT; facilities services; public safety; general office; mail room; food service; and the bookstore. The VPFA reports directly to the president, serves as a member of the president's senior staff, and has frequent interaction with trustees, other vice presidents, and external vendors.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
Finance
- Manage compilation and analysis of annual operating budget, provide budgetary controls and prepare timely and accurate fiscal reports.
- Oversee and coordinate the annual audits and filing of reports with appropriate governmental and financial organizations.
- Develop, plan, review, and supervise practices and procedures for proper control, recording and reporting of college assets, grant funds, receipts, disbursements and cash management.
- Develop, plan, review, and supervise practices and procedures for accurate and timely student billing and effective collection functions.
- Manage endowment fund record-keeping assuring compliance with all conditions, restrictions, and designations imposed by donors and administrators. Calculate unitized value and distribution of the spendable income as related to endowment investments.
- Manage plant fund record-keeping assuring proper recording of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Serve as primary contact with payroll, banking, investment, and credit organizations.
Administration
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes focusing consideration on the financial impact and consequences of plans and decisions.
- Manage insurance and risk management programs.
- Supervise selection, negotiation, coordination and implementation of employee benefit programs and implementation of human resource policies and programs.
- Negotiate health insurance benefits annually
- Supervise activities of the operations department including construction project management, maintenance, housekeeping, grounds, public safety, and campus services (telephone, mail, duplicating, transportation, vending, etc.).
- Act as liaison with dining services to negotiate annual rates
- Supervise activities of the financial aid department and assure that it maintains both fiscal and regulatory compliance while providing a high level of service to the campus community.
- Monitor performance and activities of contracted service providers such as facilities services and bookstore to confirm their adherence to contractual obligations and to assure that they provide appropriate services to the college community.
- Monitor adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to employment, benefits, facility, property, and environmental issues.
- Overall contract review renewals for college
- Oversee all rental contracts
- Serve as college grievance officer.
- Oversee IT management and contracts.
- Represent the college at professional and public meetings as needed.
- Work with external legal counsel to manage legal services for the college.
- Other duties as assigned by the President.

- Required minimum master's degree
