JOB TITLE: Senior Claims Advocate

DEPARTMENT: Claims

REPORTS TO: Director of Claims

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Claims Advocate plays a crucial role in processing insurance claims by administering client information and collaborating with clients, adjusters, and Producers on claims status, issues, and inquiries. This position is responsible for managing claims, working closely with clients, and assisting with problem-solving in partnership with the Director of Claims and Advisors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and insurance carriers, advocating for optimal client outcomes with a thorough understanding of coverage and claim issues while maintaining respect for the insurance carrier.
  • Report claims for clients and work directly with both insureds and claimants to identify new claims.
  • Analyze and interpret coverage to assist clients in understanding carrier coverage positions.
  • Provide status reports to clients and ensure internal stakeholders are well-informed on large or complex claims, as appropriate.
  • Review the accuracy of reserving on specific claims.
  • Develop action plans and assist in the resolution of complex, high-exposure, or high-profile claims.
  • Address client coverage questions to ensure the best possible claim outcomes.
  • Negotiate with carriers to establish special account instructions.
  • Prepare claims information for presentations, as requested.
  • Resolve customer claim issues in coordination with the Director of Claims.
  • Conduct claim reviews in line with service plans for key clients and insurance carriers, as requested.
  • Foster successful and effective working relationships with Producers, Account Managers, Client Executives, service team members, carriers, and other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.


Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of commercial claims adjusting experiences preferred.
  • Multi-lines and/or specialty lines experience preferred.
  • Experience working for insurance broker or carrier preferred.
  • Possess thorough, organized, and detailed oriented approach to work, including effective problem-solving skills.

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Highly attentive to detail, skilled in all technical and analytical aspects of property and casualty claims.
  • Utilization of interpersonal skills while communicating with people in tough situations
  • Ability to communicate with clients and insurance adjusters in a written format with excellent grammar and tone.
  • Ability to use and learn advanced technology and agency management systems.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook and intermediate Excel.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, and multi-function printers.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
  • Pay Range: $75,000 to 100,000 (Dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
  • Total Compensation = Pay + Performance Bonus + Benefits
  • Exempt
