Job Overview:
The primary role of the marketing manager, communications is to execute the strategy for marketing communications, social media and public/media relations engagement. This position writes all social media posts and schedules posts. This position coordinates customer case studies, PR and media, campaign communications and other projects as requested. This role handles assisting in the development and implementation of all communications, including communications shared externally, internally with employees and inter-departmental communications. As an individual contributor, the marketing manager is expected to be able to execute and manage projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and send internal and external marketing communications such as product introductions, newsletters, social media wire, etc.
- Manage regional channel marketing communications with marketing, sales and sales channel partners
- Write and schedule all social media posts for company social channels, including events, webinars, press releases, blogs and others as needed
- Track and analyze social media trends for the company
- Coordinate and oversee deadlines and submission of awards and speaking opportunities
- Manage PR and media relations, including working with customers, partners and product management on press releases and the PR firm to secure coverage
- Manage PR media monitoring and wire service technology and vendor relationships
- Track and analyze media coverage for the company and competitors.
- Aid in the development of communication materials, such as FAQs, talking points, trade show media and analystbriefing booklets, etc.
- Aid in the development of customer case studies and maintain the customer reference deck
- Support team members with digital marketing, campaigns and events for cross departmental continuity
- Ensure AP style usage, spelling, punctuation and syntax are correct to align with brand guidelines
- Set clear goals and KPIs to measure the success of marketing and communication initiatives to make data-driven decisions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate bachelors degree, or equivalent, required
- 3-5 years of work experience in social media, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
- Experience within the IoT is preferred but not required
Technical Proficiencies:
- The Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and the Track Changes function
- Project management platforms like Teamwork
- Content management systems, especially WordPress
- SEO and social scheduling tools like Semrush
- Style guides, especially the AP Stylebook
- AI tools such as ChatGPT
- Data analysis tools like Google Analytics
