About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Disaster Recovery or Resilience Specialist to lead critical infrastructure resilience and optimization efforts for a large enterprise. This strategic role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, disaster recovery principles, and AWS best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive architectural assessments of existing cloud environments, evaluating alignment with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
Perform in-depth analysis of system resiliency, reliability, and scalability
Develop robust disaster recovery strategies and solutions
Identify and recommend improvements in resource allocation, recovery automation, and monitoring systems
Define precise Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
Design and implement cloud operations and systems recovery architectures
Create detailed documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Facilitate cloud platform engineering and security workshops
Develop and execute disaster recovery test plans
Manage configuration management system updates
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and disaster recovery
Expert-level certification in AWS Cloud Architecture (preferred)
Proven experience with cloud platform engineering and security frameworks
Strong understanding of disaster recovery best practices
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder presentations and knowledge transfer sessions
Technical Skills:

Disaster recovery planning and implementation

Configuration management
Monitoring and alerting systems
Automation and orchestration tools
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
