The Controller is responsible for overseeing aspects of vendor account management, financial reporting, and the development of operational budgets for our multi-unit hospitality organization. This position will work closely with the VP of Accounting and Finance to provide exceptional financial leadership, maintain fiscal integrity, and align corporate financial objectives with Atlas Restaurant Group's Core Values.

The Controller is responsible for overseeing aspects of vendor account management, financial reporting, and the development of operational budgets for our multi-unit hospitality organization. This position will work closely with the VP of Accounting and Finance to provide exceptional financial leadership, maintain fiscal integrity, and align corporate financial objectives with Atlas Restaurant Group's Core Values.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for supervising members of the accounting team that includes, Accountant, AP Specialist, and Accounting Intern.
- Provide oversight of financial operations at a multi-unit hospitality organization, including the operating budgets, general ledger postings, as well as accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Monitor all functions of Restaurant 365, including reviewing and inputting invoices.
- Analyze financial data and present financial reports to executive management, making strategic recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
- Liaise with external auditors for insurance and financial audits to ensure all audit-related issues are addressed promptly.
- Perform cash flow management and cash disbursement functions.
- Coordinate with department heads to prepare the annual budget and monitor actual performance against budgeted figures.
- Train and supervise finance department staff, ensuring a high level of performance and professional development.
- Participate in the development and execution of the organization's strategic goals and objectives from a financial perspective.
- Supply financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers to support strategic decision-making.
Key Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency with financial statement analysis and forecasting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to present reports and financial findings clearly to executives and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize workload utilizing effective time management skills to be able to meet deadlines
- Act with integrity and honesty in handling confidential information
- Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast paced environment using experience and an outside-the-box mindset.
- Willingness to collaborate with other departments and participate in executive decision-making processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree or CPA preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting or financial management experience
- Experience with multi-unit entities and inter-company transactions
- Experience conducting audits and preparing audit reports
- Strong experience working with accounting and invoice software such as: QuickBooks, Restaurant 365, XtraChef, Treasury Payment Solutions and other third party software.
