Chief Business Development Officer Job Description:
  • Responsible for boosting patient census and overall market penetration for the organization.
  • Increase referral sources and promote EverHeart Hospice positively through targeted marketing strategies.
  • Provide oversight for the agency volunteer program to enhance community engagement.
  • An integral part of the growth of the comprehensive marketing program.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Agency policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the development of the Agency goals and strategic plan.
  • Manage departmental budget and control expenditures.
  • Develop and implement departmental vision, goals, and implementation plan.
  • Build and maintain an effective management team.
  • Participate in Agency survey. (ie. Ohio, Joint Commission, Finance, etc)
  • Conduct new employee orientation monthly.
  • Attend monthly Board of Director meetings as applicable.
  • Maintain referral source relationships and pursue new referral opportunities.
  • Maintain the referral source database.
  • Build relationships with funding sources within service areas.
  • Ensure that the agency is involved in valuable public relations activities.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the fundraising software.
  • Oversee the development of the overall marketing and fundraising programs.
  • Plan and direct development activities which include but are not limited to planned giving programs, grant opportunities, fundraisers, major asks or other giving opportunities.
  • Research development opportunities such as donor procurements, memorial gardens, etc.
  • Manage online presence, including social media accounts.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the overall volunteer program.
  • Oversee the agency newsletter.
  • Coordinate advertising with all media information: newsletters, radio announcements, TV commercials, and news articles are accurate in the promotion of the agency.
  • Oversee the coordination and attend area health fairs when deemed appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing or an associate degree with a minimum of five years of relative experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in public relations, marketing, event planning, public speaking engagements, and fundraising.
  • Minimum of one year of management experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare and/or hospice preferred.


Special Skills and Requirements:

  • Shall have a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Travel to other sites as needed. Travel may be in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs of supplies or equipment.
  • Requires various amounts of sitting, standing, twisting, turning, bending, lifting and walking.
  • Comprehension of the Conditions of Participation (COP) in hospice.
  • Comprehension of Joint Commission Accreditation requirements.
  • Comprehension of state regulations. (Ohio)
