Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Division of Plastic andReconstructive Surgery of the Department of Surgery is the advancement of sciencethrough research and the training of undergraduate and graduate students in ourdiscipline. The Department fosters a level of research and professionalactivity essential to the graduate and to the professional growth of thefaculty. The Division provides junior faculty with clinical and research experiencesthat prepare them for their professional careers. Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery is recruiting for an open rank, collateral, non-tenure track facultyposition in the area of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Clinical responsibility will be in the care of the plastic and reconstructive patients on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community facilities. Thefaculty member will also support the division in teaching and research responsibilities at theVCU Medical Center.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching: The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in allareas of plastic and reconstructive surgery with direct oversight to theresident clinics both at the VCU Medical Center.
Research: The faculty member will be expected to establish clinical research projectswith medical students and residents to support evidence based practiceoutcomes in the areas of complex wounds and surgical education.Service: The faculty member will serve on departmental and hospitalcommittees as assigned and participate in regional and national professionalorganizations.
Clinical: Clinical responsibility will be in the care of the plastic and reconstructive patients on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community facilities. They will be responsible for the developmentof an active surgical practice with the support of the division and department's leadership.

Required Qualifications:
- Must be board certified/board eligible in plastic and reconstructive surgery
- Clinical interests in general plastic surgery, breast reconstruction, Mohs reconstruction, and/or wound management
- Commitment to resident education and teaching
- Commitment to clinical research and innovation
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diversefaculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a facultymember at VCU is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate with interest in developing an academic aestheticpractice
- Training in general plastic surgery and/or breast reconstruction
