Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Jefferson Health SVP, Operations, and the SKCCC Director, and in collaboration with the Enterprise Cancer Service Line Clinical Leader (SKCCC Chief of Cancer Services), will provide administrative oversight and coordination of all service line activities in accordance with Jefferson's strategic, operational and financial goals. The successful leader will work collaboratively with regional operations, system medical group and corporate leaders in highly matrixed management structure. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated excellence in leadership and effective management to lead the Service Line towards the achievement of enterprise growth, clinical quality, strategic planning, and financial excellence.

Essential Functions:
Strategic Direction and Growth
- In collaboration with the System Cancer Service Line Clinical Leader, is responsible to lead the development of the Service Line Strategic Plan and is accountable for its successful implementation per the timelines outlined within the plan
- Responsible to identify and develop new clinical programs consistent with market opportunity, patient need, and financial feasibility across the enterprise
- Accountable to drive growth in accordance with the Service Line Strategic Plan and in response to community needs across the care continuum and throughout Jefferson Health market area
- In collaboration with the Enterprise Cancer Service Line Clinical Leader, work closely with the VP, Clinical Performance Excellence and VP, Cancer Services to build, develop, and grow the Service Line market share across the enterprise market
Clinical and Service Performance
- Accountable to build/refresh annually a Service Line Strategic Growth Plan including care retention through seamless transitions in care throughout the continuum regardless of location of service
- Drives Strategic Initiatives in collaboration with key regional and enterprise leaders
Operations
- Shares accountability for the productivity of Service Line providers
- Provides insight and consultation in the areas of general operations, IS&T, facilities and space, and human resources as it relates to the operations within and affecting the Service Line
Financial Management
- Subject to relevant Jefferson Health approvals
- Responsible for the accuracy of budget volume projections in collaboration with division and JMG leadership
- Approves all service line related requests in the capital approval process and value analysis process
- Creates and drives business plans in collaboration with divisional leaders, Presidents, and regional finance leaders with the planning
- Responsible for the development of the annual Service Line capital request budget including identification of needs, prioritization, and submission; accountable to implement the capital plan in accordance with approved enterprise capital budgets
People
- Responsible to develop and activate a provider manpower plan to cover current community needs related to the service line.
- Participates in/leads strategic provider recruitment
- Responsible to ensure provider alignment across the Service Line
- Responsible to evaluate and coordinate practice acquisitions in alignment with enterprise strategic growth plans and with all necessary approvals
Academic
- Provide insight and consultation in the development and ongoing support of clinical educational programs that align with Service Line capabilities
- Provide insight and consultation in the development and ongoing support of clinical research programs
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Master's degree in Business or Healthcare administration.
- Significant healthcare operations management experience, with a minimum of 5-7 years.
- Strategy development and implementation experience within an Oncology Service Line preferred.
- Skills in recruiting and retaining high caliber clinicians and staff.
- Ability to effectively use influence, mediation, and negotiation skills in a matrixed organization.
- Positive energy and relational leadership to navigate matrixed decision-making structures and build high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to rank competing priorities, translate them into clear and concise strategies, and execute those strategies.
- Excellent financial management skills. Previous experience in transplant contracting and cost reporting preferred.
- Previous experience in an EPIC EMR environment preferred
