POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Manager of Coding & Charge Capture is responsible for professionally and successfully leading Coding and Charge Capture teams to maximize productivity and performance expectations. The position has direct oversight and accountability for the management of inventory, workload balance, staff development and mentoring, and quality assurance. The Manager has overall responsibility for all staff within the Department and directly supervises the Department Supervisors and staff with training responsibilities.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to high client satisfaction by building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients/ partners. Foster and maintain professional and effective relationships with UW Medicine and UW Medicine entity department leadership.
Manage charge capture and coding functions.
Oversee the quality assurance program.
Work with coding supervisors to ensure coding staff is knowledgeable and current regarding physician documentation, coding and reimbursement rules and policies.
Develop and manage staffing plans that facilitate efficient operations in conjunction with the Director of Coding & Charge Capture.
Solve complex problems through a cross-functional approach.
Work closely with Compliance, Insurance Follow-up, Clinical Departments, and physicians to manage production work and solve outstanding issues.
Provide timely, accurate, and professional responses to questions and concerns.
Manage and addresses multiple issues simultaneously.
Work closely with Compliance to identify training and education needs
Manages staff to established standards for quality and quantity of work performed.
Responsible for developing supervisor and team goals and objectives in accordance with overall department and facility goals and objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration, or related field required. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
Active medical coding certification. (such as CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, etc...)
5 years within a healthcare and/or multi-specialty medical professional billing and physician coding environment.
2 years progressively responsible supervisory/management experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
