Position Title: Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI)

$90,000 to $150,000 annually DOE

Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Business Intelligence (BI) will lead efforts to analyze trends in business unit data

while serving as a key leader within the team, including managing direct reports. This role involves

providing guidance on technical topics, analytical methods, data visualization best practices, and effective

leadership communication.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in data visualization, a deep understanding of business

operations, and the ability to anticipate and address customer needs proactively. A proven history of

mentoring and guiding team members while demonstrating strong leadership traits is essential. Staying

up to date with advancements in data science and business intelligence best practices will be a critical

part of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extract insights from business data to impact business unit performance in a repeatable directly,
    scalable manner.
  • Build strong relationships with customer organization team members and cross-functional
    partners to provide strategic advice on data trends and requirements.
  • Solve challenging business problems creatively, efficiently, and independently, especially when
    faced with time and operational constraints or ambiguity.
  • Understand operations of multiple business units in depth and become familiar with expense
    and revenue drivers of client business units. Manage priorities and requests across multiple
    business units.
  • Assist team members with projects, assisting them with technology tool-sets, communication of
    insights, and general problem-solving methodologies. Define best practices for documentation,
    new team member training and productivity measurement.
  • Deliver on multiple initiatives in the same time frame.
  • Be intellectually curious and have a passion for proactively digging into the data to understand
    "why" we believe the data is accurate, how the data can be validated and kept fresh.
  • Demonstrate leadership acumen in interactions with peers and other business unit teammates.
  • Make and document recommendations for integrating the data set(s) into a production
    environment, informing customers about the availability of products at their location.
  • Identify opportunities to use data to develop new strategies and improve business performance
    and implement those solutions. Develop and execute long-term strategy of BI products.
  • Develop and execute senior leadership communication strategies around work being performed
    by the team.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum seven (7) plus years of experience in marketing analytics, business analytics,
    operations analytics, management consulting, sales operations, or finance organizations
  • Minimum five (5) plus years of experience analyzing large data sets using your strong SQL skills.
  • A Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in managing direct reports is required.
  • Experience in leading impactful data-related or analytics projects and visually presenting and
    communicating findings with minimal supervision.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including executive communication experience.
  • Ability to influence team members and gain buy-in of business intelligence products.
  • Ability to recognize where teammates may need guidance and develop them into stronger
    performers.
  • Ability to understand and explore data warehouse schemas.
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of
    situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within critical deadlines.
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a

computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office

setting.
