JOB TITLE: Director of Pharmacy Services (Pharmacist in Charge)

DEPARTMENT NAME: Pharmacy

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Chief Executive Officer

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Pharmacy is charged with the duty of organizing and providing Pharmaceutical Services to all services and disciplines of the Memorial Retail and Hospital Pharmacy Team, keeping in mind the mission of the organization to help promote positive patient outcomes by assuring the efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness of drug use.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and Licensure:
o Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
o Licensed Pharmacist in Illinois with certification in Immunization Administration.

Experience:
o At least five years in a hospital pharmacy setting, including three years of supervisory or management experience. Experience in retail pharmacy is helpful.
o 340B Program and utilization for the most affordable outcomes.

Skills:
o Proficiency in automated pharmacy systems and basic computer applications.
o Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
o Multitask daily for 10+ hours a shift; 4 days a week.

Physical and Safety Considerations:
Immunizations as required by IDPH, CDC, and CMS.
The role is classified as "safety-sensitive," requiring full compliance with drug-free workplace policies.
Physical requirements include repetitive motion tasks and potential exposure to hazardous substances under strict safety protocols.
Requires excellent vision and hearing, ability to move to different areas and environments throughout the day. This position requires a high amount of reading, researching, analyzing data and communication.
Must operate equipment according to established state and federal guidelines. Must follow safe lifting procedures, utilizing good body mechanics. Provides a safe environment for patients. Follows hospital guidelines for infection control, fire, and disaster plans.
Employees must use their personal cell phone to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for programs and systems necessary to perform their job responsibilities. This measure ensures secure access to sensitive information and systems.
Requires accessibility for communication using personal cell phone and text to communicate with staff and management as needed for business purposes.
