The Eastchester School District is seeking an innovative and dynamic leader to fill a 12-month administrative position (member of the Eastchester Administrators Association). The K-12 Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Health will:

• Provide leadership, oversight, staff development, mentorship, support and guidance to all K-12 staff in the curricular areas of Physical Education and Health; engage in curriculum design and implementation, goal setting and program evaluation; ensure alignment and compliance with all District, State and Federal mandates/requirements; observe and evaluate teachers and coaches to ensure student achievement.
• Supervise a comprehensive interscholastic athletics and intramural program; provide leadership in the selection, assignment and supervision of coaches and athletics staff members; ensure and document appropriate certifications and licenses of all athletics staff members; prepare and manage the athletics and intramural budget; schedule all games, tournaments, athletic/intramural events; coordinate use and permitting of all athletic facilities; coordinate matters such as eligibility, physicals, record-keeping, insurance claims and recognitions/awards for students, teams and coaches; coordinate athletic transportation needs; coordinate game supervision and security; liaise with the Eastchester Sports Club; attend appropriate Section and Sports Association meetings; attend interscholastic sporting events (will include evenings and weekends).
• Engage all stakeholders (including students, parents, faculty, and community members) in a shared vision and commitment to the goals of the physical education/health and athletics programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.

Qualifications:

• NYS School District Administrator certification (SDA or SDL)
• K-12 Physical Education certification required; Health certification preferred
• Prior varsity-level coaching experience preferred;
• Prior experience evaluating coaches and coordinating game supervision;
• NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*

Employment Terms:

• 12 month assignment beginning July 1, 2025 or earlier if finalist is available
• The salary range starts at $170,000 - $185,000, depending upon prior experience.

*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law 305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
