Job Overview
Experience with leading a technical team in analytical, computational, and test activities for both research & development and applied problems in high-speed propulsion is desired.
Leads a talented team of government employees, government support contractors, and other stakeholders to advance the state of the art in high-speed propulsion and transition capability to the warfighter. Establishes and communicates Branch mission, vision, and strategy in alignment with Division and Directorate.
Serves as the management official and overall decision authority for 29 employees including two section chiefs. Leads and organizes employee hiring, training, mentoring, professional development, contribution assessment, and recognition programs. Represents the Branch to Division and Directorate leadership and may serve on Directorate-level boards and councils.
Serves on Division Corporate Board for strategic planning, program reviews, and financial execution reviews. Responsible for establishing Branch research in alignment with Division priorities and integrating research activities with aerodynamics, structures and vehicle integration branches. Provides technical guidance for scientists, engineers, and program managers, and assigns personnel to research teams to meet objectives aligned with Division priorities.
May supervise and/or serve as a Research & Development Program Manager to guide integrated research teams during planning and execution. Manages relationships with external stakeholders in high-speed propulsion.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant S&E field
- Eligible for SAR code 5 special sensitive TS/SCI clearance
- 3+ years of recent (within last 10 years) experience with Research, Development, Test, and/or Evaluation programs
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced academic degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant S&E field
- 12+ months of supervisory experience
- Experience with high-speed propulsion Research, Development, Test, and/or Evaluation
- Familiarity with the government and industrial hypersonic community
- APDP Science & Technology Management II certification
