Prevailance is seeking a seasoned Engineer Analyst - Main Propulsion with extensive shipboard propulsion engineering expertise to support U.S. Navy operations. This role requires hands-on experience in propulsion systems, readiness evaluations, and engineering administration programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in Main Propulsion (MP) systems across various platforms (Gas Turbine, Diesel, and Steam)
- Evaluate and support MP administrative programs, including LOQM, FOQM, DFS, TSO, and Bearing Records
- Conduct readiness evaluations based on the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM), particularly Chapter 6
- Support INSURV inspections, understanding the requirements of Master Event Lists, Workbook deliverables, and inspection guides
- Manage maintenance and operational programs, including Material Maintenance Management (3M) and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
- Apply knowledge of support systems such as lube and fuel oil services, HP and LP Air, CRP, and control systems
- Utilize the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) to assess Equipment Operational Capability (EOC) definitions and scoring
- Engage in travel (up to 50%) and embark U.S. Naval vessels for extended periods during operations and inspections
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 20 years of documented hands-on Navy shipboard propulsion engineering experience
- Three (3) at sea tours working in a Main Propulsion capacity
- Experience operating and maintaining MP related equipment and support systems
- Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) qualification on at least one Navy ship
Strongly Desired:
- Retired Senior Enlisted (E7/E8)
- Recent experience (within the last 5 years) operating / maintaining a Main Propulsion plant
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience as one of the following:
- An Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV);
- Inspector at the Afloat Training Group; or
- TYCOM staff focusing on Pre-INSURV preparations
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Security Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
