Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP).
- Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Wisconsin.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health care, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Experience in a specific psychiatric specialty (e.g., child/adolescent, geriatric, substance abuse).
- Familiarity with telehealth and remote care practices.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic assessments.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with best practices and regulations.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric research, best practices, and treatment modalities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuing education opportunities.
