About the role:
NOTE: This role is a Durham, NC based role. Candidates will be expected to be in our Durham, NC office 2.5 days per week.
The Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships will focus on managing existing deals through to closure while driving new business opportunities through outbound lead development. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in the life sciences sector, with additional knowledge of the provider and health system spaces.
In this role, you will collaborate with clients to design tailored solutions that meet their specific needs, educate them on the value Pluto's technology provides, and finalize the details of deals. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned consultative professional with deep healthcare expertise, particularly in life sciences.

You will also work with new prospects, develop strong relationships, and maintain existing partnerships. Additional responsibilities include market research, creating business strategies, developing pitches, managing contracts, and identifying new opportunities. This role reports to the SVP of Strategic Partnerships and works cross-functionally with various departments.

What you'll do:

- Deliver demonstrations of Pluto's capabilities to prospective and existing clients.
- Craft compelling sales materials, including pitches, presentations, and proposals.
- Consult with clients and internal teams to align solutions with client needs in payor, provider, and life sciences spaces.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting existing clients through the sales lifecycle.
- Coordinate meetings, deliverables, and documentation to ensure seamless client engagement.
- Manage the sales CRM with accurate and up-to-date activity tracking.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, including MSAs and financial terms.
- Refine internal processes and metrics to improve sales effectiveness.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years in healthcare, including 5+ years in life sciences or provider/health system sectors.
- 3+ years in leadership roles across life sciences and/or provider/health system spaces.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, with the ability to address industry-specific challenges.
- Experience with consultative sales and expanding strategic partnerships.
- Familiarity with ecosystem offerings, pricing models, and programs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong relationship-building skills, including with C-suite stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Hubspot, MS Outlook, Google Drive, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, public speaking).
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on approach with a builder mentality and ability to persevere through challenges.
Strongly Preferred:
- Advanced education (secondary or post-secondary).
- Experience crafting, negotiating, and closing deals.
- Expertise in developing and reviewing contracts.
