Job Description

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) to provide care for VA members and their families. The (LPMHC) assesses and treats mental health and emotional disorders, relationship issues and life challenges. Through various methods of psychotherapy, counselors work with patients to develop meaningful behavior changes.

A Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals facing mental health challenges, using various therapeutic techniques to support their clients' emotional well-being. They create personalized treatment plans, facilitate therapy sessions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Stay informed about developments in the field of mental health and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and connect them with additional resources and support services.


Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A state-recognized licensing exam, such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Must hold full, current, and unrestricted license to independently practice.

Education Required:
  • Master's degree in mental health counseling.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation/ Min: $30hr Max: $61hr

Benefits - Full-time positions are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
