SUMMARY: The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations within the manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient and effective production processes. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity, while optimizing resources and driving continuous improvement across all operational areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Production Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure schedules are met and production goals are achieved.
  • Monitor workflow, resource allocation, and machinery performance to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements across all production lines.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of supervisors and production staff, providing clear direction, support, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that align with the plant's strategic goals.
  • Use data-driven analysis to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies, creating a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, enforce safety protocols, and lead incident investigations when necessary.
  • Resource Management:
  • Track and execute to established budgets related to operations, including labor, materials, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of materials and supplies to meet production demands.
  • Optimize the use of plant resources, including equipment, labor, and materials, to achieve cost-effective production.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates to the General Manager on production status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Prepare and present reports on operational performance, including productivity, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to ensure alignment on production goals and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities to include: interviewing prospective employees, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and

disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Previous management experience.
  • CNC machining experience.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • Mechanical assembly experience.
  • Software proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and an ERP system.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of brazing of SST, steel, aluminum, copper, and other metals.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • BS degree in Engineering or Operational Management desired.
  • May be substituted with commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Broad knowledge of a discipline such as electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering, equal to a college degree.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality system not required, but preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
