About the Role
The VCU School of Pharmacy (SOP) invites you to apply to our Director of Education and Assessment role. The Director of Education and Assessment role will collaborate with administration and faculty to improve student learning and enhance successful academic programs through programmatic and student learning assessment, and to collect data and monitor the School's programmatic assessment. Through collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic & Faculty Affairs, the director will innovate, develop, implement, and manage the School's assessment efforts including program development, evaluation, monitoring, and reporting; collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate findings of quantitative and qualitative data relating to the School's students, programs, and characteristics to support strategic planning, decision-making, program development and review, assessment of student learning, and accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
I) Support the assessment of the undergraduate, professional, and graduate education programs in the School of Pharmacy
Evaluate and analyze curricular outcomes for undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs Evaluate student performance in both didactic and experiential curricula for undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs Implement the SOP Assessment plan and make recommendations for revisions as needed Maintain up-to-date program and course bulletin information in the University system for undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs Manage the process of curricular mapping of undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs when needed Participate in professional and graduate student orientation sessions Coordinate surveys and assessment instruments used to collect, analyze, and report data to enhance the effectiveness of the school In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic & Faculty Affairs, prepare university annual assessment reports of the undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs Assist with data collection and monitoring of SOP Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Participate in the ACPE accreditation processes (self-study, monitoring reports, database management, etc.) to ensure compliance of the PharmD program with ACPE Standards Oversee and collaborate with faculty on the management and assessment of PharmD student co-curricular activities Manage the Course Assessment Review Process for the professional program each semester Oversee budget of the Office of Education and Assessment Serve as the ExamSoft administrator Serve as the AACP Central Survey System Administrator Serve on the SOP Outcomes and Assessment Committee, PharmD Curriculum Committee, and BSPS Curriculum Committee Serve on the VCU University Assessment Council Serve on other committees as requested and appropriate
II. Support faculty success in the provision of educational programs in the School of Pharmacy
Participate in new faculty orientation sessions Coordinate course and instructor evaluation processes for professional and graduate programs including serving as the liaison to university and leading student focus groups Provide teaching observations and follow-up meetings for faculty In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic & Faculty Affairs, coordinate topics and speakers for faculty development sessions and deliver sessions as appropriate Serve as a resource for faculty on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) 5. Provide individual faculty and graduate student consultations to improve teaching and assessment methods as requested and appropriate

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in an academic discipline relevant to education
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality including knowledge of guidelines for handling sensitive information, familiarity with FERPA and other Federal requirements related to managing student information
- Ability to solve problems and make effective decisions in matters requiring immediate response
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight or supervision, resolving concerns when possible before bringing to supervisor
- Adaptable to performing under moderate levels of stress, imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads, or public/student/faculty contact
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU
- Experience working in higher education and related systems
