Director, Tax Accounting

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

Responsible for oversight of College GAAP reporting and tax accounting. Reports to the Vice-President of Finance. This position is eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area. The Director, Tax Accounting is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.

Job Duties

• Manages and leads tax accounting functions and activities.
• Oversees the development and preparation of accounting and financial reports.
• Oversees the College's commercialization accounting function.
• Manages tax accounting employees, to include defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
• Responsible for filing financial statements and reports to external entities.
• Ensures processes, procedures, and internal controls are in place.
• Provides analysis and financial reports for management.
• Coordinates with cross functional teams on projects and processes.
• Maintains records to ensure GAAP compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Eleven years of directly related experience with four years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree and seven years of directly related experience with four years of supervisory experience will also be considered.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting.
• SAP experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
