Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Traverse City, MI office. The qualified candidate will demonstrate an established career in civil engineering for land development and site design including project management experience. This opportunity is best suited for candidates who possess a strong technical background, a proven record of client interaction, and the ability to plan and manage design and construction engineering efforts.

Primary Functions

  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of projects.
  • Develop proposals, permits, project plans, and schedules.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
  • Interact daily with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within Fishbeck, providing insight and guidance to engineers for land development and site designs.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.

Desired Education/Licensure

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

Professional Engineer

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Licensed PE (MI preferred or ab le to acquire via reciprocity within 6 months).
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Previous project management and client liaison experience.
