Summary/Description:
TheUIC Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking afull time, motivated professional for the position of Clinical Faculty (OpenRank)/Clinical Pharmacist who will be assigned to UI Health's Hematology/Oncologyservices. Theideal candidate will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care topatients in the areas of hematology and oncology in the hospital and on-siteclinics at the University of Illinois Hospital. The hospital is a 450-bed academic institution located approximately 2miles west of downtown Chicago. The hospital serves an urban, indigent patientpopulation. It is among a select groupof medical centers accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Cancer services atUI Health are comprised of several programs committed to diagnosing andtreating common and rare cancers including breast, colorectal, gynecologic,head & neck, hematologic/blood, lung, and other cancers.

Duties:
The hematology and oncology clinical pharmacistteam will consist of 6 pharmacists who are integral members of themultidisciplinary team in the hospital and clinics. The Clinical Pharmacistduties include medication review and reconciliation, medication selection anddosing recommendations, TPN management, immunosuppression and infectiousdisease prophylaxis selection, management of nausea and pain, therapeutic drugmonitoring, provision of drug information, and patient education. The candidatewill also be responsible for nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development;coordinating and conducting quality initiative projects and developingcollaborative treatment and research protocols.

The academicresponsibilities of the clinical faculty member (ClinicalAssistant/Associate/Full Professor) include the provision of didacticlectures and precepting entry-level Doctor of Pharmacy students, PGY1 residents,and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations andpublications, are an expectation as well.

Minimum Qualifications
PharmD degree from an ACPE accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
Completion of Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) residency required.
Completion of Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) Oncology residency or 2-3 years of equivalent clinical experience as a clinical pharmacist in hematology and oncology is required.
Must present evidence of, or eligibility for, Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist by start date.
Must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured clinical faculty position within the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy. Academic rank commensurate with experience.
