Mercury Financials' Wilmington, Delaware office is located near the Riverfront. Wilmington is Delaware's largest city and is the economic engine of the state. The Riverfront combines its rich history with a host of attractions that bring great food, entertainment, and shopping to our city. Role:

You are the perfect fit for this new role if you have direct experience working in debt settlement and you are seeking a position with a lender who believes in helping customers through financial difficulties. The Head of Debt Settlement will have the unique opportunity of growing a new unit with the aim in developing a best-in-class debt settlement function, leading to significantly improved returns for Mercury Financial as well as assisting our customers that are in distress. Your hands on experience with managing debt management companies and processes will be influential in developing Mercury's strategies. Your proven track record in this area in combination with your operational expertise will be invaluable to the success of this new function.

This role balances high-level strategic thinking with the practical execution of daily operational tasks. The Head of Debt Settlement will design and oversee systems and processes that align resources with our mission while being comfortable working on big-picture strategies and smaller, day-to-day operational details.

At the core of this role is a commitment to fostering an inclusive, values-driven approach to leadership, driving both the strategic vision and managing the operational realities.

What a day is like:

Operational Leadership
Lead the creation and management of a unit dedicated to finding solutions and arrangements for a specific group of customers that have reached out to debt relief firms for assistance
Establish short-term and long-term objectives for the debt settlement function, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams to meet objectives
Develop relationships with the industry's top debt relief agencies to drive optimal customer solutions while maximizing operational efficiencies
Serve as a strategic advisor to ensure that programmatic decisions are informed by sound assumptions and analysis
Develop and implement standardized processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction within the debt settlement function
Effectively negotiate with vendors to improve returns with the ability to execute changes across a complex matrix of partners. Where necessary, engage with vendors to deliver solutions that can help support the delivery of developed strategies
Evaluate and refine existing operational systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic alignment
Monitor and report on strategies and operational KPI's focused on reducing loss exposure.

You're perfect for this role if you have:
Minimum 10 years of financial industry experience with direct relevant experience in debt settlement programs and and operational management
Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on, willing to dive into the details
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct analysis and make strategic recommendations
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of developing and implementing an efficient and effective operational unit
Team player who is open to providing and receiving feedback
Open to new ideas and willing to test and learn to improve Mercury's results
