Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Residential Services, the Area Director will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative supervision to residential support staff serving formerly homeless individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The Area Director, in conjunction with the AVP/VP/SVP, will be monitoring the appropriateness and quality of the standards of client care, ensuring compliance with agency and funders' policies, procedures, and program eligibility requirements. The Area Director will be providing crisis intervention to clients in distress, attending case conferences for clients receiving services from community providers or are hospitalized and establishing and maintaining good relationships with neighbors, community organizations and leaders, and other providers.

Essential Position Functions:
- Supervise Program Directors for single and scatter site housing
- Develop and implement rehabilitative programming
- Oversee personnel actions, including recruiting/hiring, shift scheduling, policy development, staff meetings, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and labor/management issues
- Actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, clinical treatment meetings, and community meetings with clients
- Review and submit monthly Medicaid billing
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- MSW or Master's in a related field.
- Clinical experience with chronically homeless and/or mentally ill adults; familiarity with NY State Office of Mental Health regulations.
- Supervisory experience; experience in a mental health program, crisis intervention, and managing trauma-triggered behavior.
- Excellent time management skills; stress-resistant and flexible; team player, open to feedback, creative, and organized.
- Willingness to perform CPR/First Aid/AED/CPI/Naloxone.
- Preferred: Knowledge of AWARDS.
