We are looking for a talented Project Engineer with a strong background in pipeline and facility projects, especially from the owner's side. You'll be working closely with our team to guide technical aspects through the entire project lifecycle-from design to construction and beyond. As a Project Engineer, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: You'll be deeply involved in developing and reviewing detailed engineering designs for pipeline and facility projects. You'll work to ensure that everything is safe, practical, and in line with project goals.
- Owner's Perspective: Your experience from the owner's side will shine as you work with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure designs and construction are aligned with the client's objectives-whether that's on time, within budget, or with the right quality.
- Procurement Support: You'll collaborate with the procurement team to ensure we're selecting the right materials and services for the project, helping to review and evaluate supplier bids and make the best decisions for the project.
- Construction Guidance: During construction, you'll offer technical guidance and support to contractors, helping to solve technical challenges and ensuring the work stays on track according to the design.
- Ensuring Quality & Compliance: You'll play a key role in maintaining high standards by ensuring that all engineering work adheres to relevant codes and regulations like CSA Z662. Regular reviews and inspections will be part of your routine to maintain compliance.
- Scheduling & Resource Coordination: You'll work closely with the project manager and team to track progress, monitor timelines, and adjust resources as needed to make sure we're staying on schedule.
- Problem-Solving: Engineering problems can arise at any point. You'll be there to identify challenges early and develop practical solutions that keep the project moving forward without compromising on quality or safety.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keeping accurate records is key. You'll maintain detailed reports, drawings, and specifications, ensuring clear communication across the team and with our clients.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical preferred) with a focus on pipeline and facility projects.
- Experience: At least 5 years of engineering experience, specifically in pipeline and facility projects, with a preference for those who have worked from the owner's side. Your experience in the energy sector-especially in both brownfield and greenfield projects-will be invaluable.
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
Skills & Expertise:
- Owner's Side Experience: Your background in working with owners' teams will be essential to ensuring that projects align with the client's goals, budgets, and schedules.
- Technical Knowledge: You should have a strong understanding of pipeline and facility engineering, including design, construction, and commissioning, and be familiar with codes and regulations like CSA Z662.
- Communication & Collaboration: You'll need to build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Clear communication and teamwork will be key to your success.
- Problem-Solving: You'll need to think critically and offer creative solutions when engineering challenges arise.
- Software Proficiency: You should be comfortable with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, P&ID), and be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting. Familiarity with scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera would be an asset.
