Overview: The Director of Application Support provides leadership, direction and supports deployment, business systems analysis, software upgrades and maintenance, and other services related to the software applications used within the organization. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of application management and a strong focus on customer support.

Overview: The Director of Application Support provides leadership, direction and supports deployment, business systems analysis, software upgrades and maintenance, and other services related to the software applications used within the organization. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of application management and a strong focus on customer support.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Delivers leadership to the team for schedules and projects assigned to member services applications.
- Hires, trains, disciplines, evaluates and develops members of the application services team.
- Directs, oversees, and aids with the selection, implementation, installation and maximization of software applications used by the organization.
- Identifies and implements industry best practices for application development, maintenance and support.
- Provides guidance and recommended consultation on applications and related services to other departments, which will include business rules analysis, reviewing system documentation, feasibility, design, user acceptance testing, and implementation.
- Maintains and communicates to the business unites comprehensive application roadmaps and upgrade schedules.
- Monitors application performance metrics, identifies areas for improvement, and implements solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.
- Proactively identifies and prioritizes opportunities for process improvement and create corrective measures.
- Coordinates the resources needed to meet client and/or business objectives related to software applications.
- Oversees staff in troubleshooting application problems, monitors results and solicits feedback to ensure effective resolution.
- Maintains established relationships with vendors/suppliers, through effective communication and provision of accurate and timely feedback.
- Works to remove, resolve and mitigate barriers and risks that slow or prevent the advancement and enhancement of MCU applications.
- Assesses hardware/software systems, applications, and processes to facilitate a larger information systems strategy and ensure system compatibilities.
- Produces and authenticates Information Technology applications business continuity plans.
- Develops and adheres to departmental budget.
- Ensures compliance with applicable company, state, and federal laws, statutes, and regulations, as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field required; Master's degree or Certifications (ITIL, PMP, etc) are a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or IT operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role. Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Experience with core banking systems, third party applications such as Quick Assist, Visa DPS, Mortgage Lending Finastra, Meridian Link LOS System, Digital Banking system Alkami, Synergy & Synapsys
- Ability to solve technical and operational problems
- Working knowledge of communication technology
- Thorough understanding of internet/intranet, including experience with specific network environments and protocols in use at the organization
- Ability to produce and maintain necessary documentation
- Excellent customer service and project management skills
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading people and activities. Ability to motivate, direct and coach staff
- Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
