Overview: We are seeking an experienced Composites Product Engineer in Clinton Township, MI. In this role, you will be a technical product lead for our Motorsport projects, ensuring all customer specific and internal company guidelines are being followed in the development phase. We're looking for a Hands-on, passionate individual who takes personal responsibility for their performance and business results. Demonstrates strong sense of urgency about solving problems and identifying opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Product Lead for Motorsport projects
  • Main point of contact for the OEM and suppliers during the development phase.
  • FIA Representative - Main point of contact for motorsport associations and homologation topics.
  • Participate in updating the FIA standards.
  • Manage the customer oriented development team in regard to the requirements needed for motorsports and fiber composite components.
  • Ensure the development budget is being adhered to.
  • Conduct regular design reviews to ensure design target is being met.
  • Implementation of the D-FMEA.
  • Ensure all customer specific and internal company guidelines and specifications are being followed in the development phase.


Requirements & Qualification:
  • Degree in plastics engineering, electronical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable qualification.
  • Professional experience in the motorsports and fiber composite technology fields
  • Understanding of current requirements and processes of the motorsport industry, including future trends.
  • Detailed understanding of the fiber composite part production process.
  • Knowledge of lightweight construction technology and it's design guidelines. Fiberism experience desired.
  • Knowledge of simulation of fiber composite parts.
  • Experience in seat development.
  • CAD experience with Catia V5
  • Experience of common automotive development and quality processes.
  • Quick learner, work independently, committed, teamwork and communication skills as well as hands on mentality desired.
  • Travel - 25% to suppliers & customers.
