Daikin Applied is seeking a Manager of Engineering - Positive Displacement Chillers who will quickly grow our Positive Displacement Chiller Organization. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!

Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MN

What you will do:
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of approximately 8 engineers who will be responsible for developing positive displacement chiller products

      • Effectively lead the team while learning the subject matter and understand the technical challenges first-hand
      • Make daily tactical decisions to ensure Daikin products are best-in-class
      • Align product development plans with technical and market requirements
      • Continuous emphasis on rapidly solving technical challenges and speed to market
    • Create a long-term strategy
      • Lead and mentor team members with a focus on long-term career and technical growth
      • Ensure staffing plans and technical skillsets are aligned to business objectives
      • Build and follow engineering best practices
      • Continuous improvement of engineering and product development methods
      • Ensure process alignment to Daikin Applied's phase-gate product development cycle

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4-year degree in engineering combined with at least 5 years leading engineers
  • Experience with career development plans and growing teams
  • Strong background in engineering best practices such as DFMEA, DFM, Lean, etc
  • Able to travel 20%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $115,300 - $144,300 (+15% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
