The Purpose of the Director Product Manager it to create innovative customer experiences and manage initiatives that drive growth for Baker Hill's software platforms. The Director Product Manager is an analytical and strategic thinker who will develop processes to improve workflow and communication, manage and develop a small team, and ensure our roadmap is continually optimized to drive client growth and retention. The role includes increasing the profitability of existing products to drive the creation of the product strategy and execution for new offerings across the product life cycle. This cycle will reflect an agile way of working with an emphasis on the continuous exploration processes to ensure full understanding of the customer problem of be solved and partnering to develop the technological approach that enables quick implementation of the requested minimal viable product to market. The Director Product Manager will be directly responsible for gathering intelligence from sales, marketing, customers, and prospects to set the strategic vision and lead the execution of incorporating innovative features associated with new technologies. This is an important strategic role and requires the oversight of the product roadmap, creation and/or the commercialization and implementation efforts across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful and seamless delivery and adoption of Baker Hill's financial software platforms.

Essential Functions/Job Duties
  • Understands key commercial banking, small business, and consumer lending operations, and credit analysis, and banking experiences (including online banking, digital account opening) and can collaborate with customers and stakeholders to refine understanding of the potential need. listen to banking client requests, understand the need, and after validating the problem to be solved and communicating potential approach with the customer, is accountable for communicating the information communicate that need to others with other action agents within the organization.
  • Understands the practices necessary to architect/envision a technological approach that enables quick implementation, delivery and support of ongoing operations around a new product offering.
  • Collaboratively sets the vision and direction for new banking and risk management technology products and is responsible for bringing the new products to market through the execution of a successful, innovative, and deliberate go-to-market strategy. Understands how to bring that vision to life via the PI Planning process. Active participant with providing insights on business priorities and guiding the ART on the most valuable work to focus on.
  • Supports the development and implementation of a product go-to-market plan(s), working with multiple departments to execute.
  • Supports strategic planning by developing goals and objectives for tactical execution of the full product life cycle for assigned products.
  • Establishes/implements new strategies to meet internal & external client needs. Leads process to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
  • Ensures that sales and marketing channels and New Business Development support are ready and able to effectively sell and support existing and new products
  • Works closely with client account leaders and operations management to analyze and understand external customer needs to establish and execute key management goals.
  • Provides excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and leadership to ensure promotion of critical intelligence required to promote and position new, marketable products and services.
  • Works closely with Operations, Project Management, and IT teams to coordinate all cross-functional project activities and ensures deliverables are accurate and meet customer requirements.
  • Leverages competitive intelligence and market trends to help define product strategy and roadmap for assigned products.
  • Oversees process for defining priorities around commercialization and ensuring realistic plans, dates and resources for implementation and operationalization are in order.
  • Create, manage, and execute the product roadmap to meet business goals
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Implementations and Development, identifying dependencies, and managing the flow of information to all groups
  • Extensive experience in providing feedback on system demos, validating the direction of development and ensuring the solution meets business requirements.
  • Can work with stakeholders/teams to identify and remove roadblocks that hinder progress, leveraging their influence to resolve issues requiring higher-level intervention.
  • Assisting in creating ROI analysis on for enhancements, and new products, to prioritize investment of R&D resources

Education/Training Requirements

B.A. or Associates - Required

Experience and Requirements:

4+ years product management experience in Finance/Technology
  • 4-year degree minimum, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in commercial banking or product management.
  • Sound understanding, and a curiosity about emerging technologies
  • Team player with experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Solid communication, critical thinking, problem solving, project management skills required. Impeccable attention to detail.
  • A self-directed person who operates with passion, urgency, focus, and discipline. Experienced communicator that can translate/ensure offshore understanding of product strategy along with translating product roadmaps, features deliverables, to corresponding use-cases. Can formulate Go-To-Market plans, creating wireframes and concept mockups when necessary. Articulate presenter, focusing on creative project presentations & proposals. Can develop custom reports and dashboarding to answer pertinent questions.
  • Adept at developing business relationships at the Executive level, yet comfortable engaging in technical discussions with developers. Prior development experience is a plus.
  • Results focused with a proven track record of success, as you will be required to deliver results immediately.
  • Fast learner, who applies creative and unconventional solutions to new and complex problems.
  • Ability to plan and manage at the strategic level but experienced in rolling up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary.
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and business strategy
  • Prior experience standing up offshore 3P development teams to include infrastructure and onboarding groups.
  • 5+ years proven experience working with offshore captive development teams to drive value into market. Ensures vendor solution providers are held accountable to agreed timelines, milestones and that quality is built in. Comfortable escalating as appropriate and resolving disagreements.
  • Vendor Management: 5+ years' experience in all portions of the third-party vendor relationship (RFP, SOI/ROI Proposals, contracts, consultant recommendations, reviews, budgeting, deliverables, validating results, releases to Production, renewals with renegotiated specificity).
