ESSENCE OF THE ROLE

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst gathers, reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs/requirements, processes, and supporting systems in alignment with corporate and technology strategies to ensure that LSI is maximizing the value of LSI's investments. This individual will also ensure quality throughout the development process and for ongoing Microsoft updates.

This role has two key areas of responsibility. The first is related to working directly with the business to assist with prioritizing the business needs and documenting detailed business requirements. The second is the quality aspect and includes identifying test scenarios and maintaining a test case library for ongoing regression testing needed for Microsoft wave updates and other system changes. Documentation may include business process and data flows as needed, to allow developers to build and/or modify the system to meet defined goals. In this role, the BSA may perform CE system configurations within the CE toolset and assist with Solution Architecture analysis and recommendations.

Works with IT Leadership and business teams to assist with prioritization and all aspects of quality assurance including testing, training, and support.

POSITION
  • Evaluate feature requests and translate business requirements into features/stories for the development group, leveraging CE capabilities to provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform configuration and workflow updates within the CE environment
  • Assist in the analysis of semi-annual wave updates issued by Microsoft, determining the impact on the business and thoroughly testing the updates
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Landscape Structures business practices, Marketing and Sales Operations business processes as well as D365CE functionality and technology capabilities (Portal, CE, Integration, AI, Reporting, etc.)
  • Execute test cases, analyze test results, problems, or failures and documents results
  • Work closely with business users during testing (UAT)
  • Assist in resolving issues by conducting analysis, using data to verify assumptions, and troubleshooting specific system issues. Recommend resolutions to potential issues.
  • Acts as central communication point for testing and communicates with analysts working on integrated platforms to understand impact across systems
  • Assists with creation and execution of automated tests and analyzes failures
  • This role may act independently as a PM for smaller initiatives and/or support the Lead PM for larger initiatives, using an Agile methodology and assist in coordinating additional resources for assigned projects as needed.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

  • Facilitates requirements gathering meetings focused on understanding and documenting business and customer needs encompassing D365CE and integrated solutions.
  • Utilizes a variety of tools (e.g., process flow charts, presentations, Azure DevOps) to properly interpret and convey business requirements for senior management, business users, Reps, customers and IT.
  • Prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to CE customizations, business processes and user documentation, including knowledge articles and online help tools.
  • Develop and implement user test cases and test plans.
  • Leverage an automated test tool to its fullest by researching capabilities, maintaining test cases, and constantly monitoring the newest capabilities in this area
  • Assists process leaders as needed with testing, training and support.
  • Models appropriate behaviors and effective communication skills: quality listening, giving and receiving feedback, giving and receiving assignments, and effective meeting behavior.
  • Recommends methods to utilize out of box functionality to support business requirements.
  • Assists with the general operations of the IT department and performs appropriate tasks as assigned. Works closely with IT members to maximize organizational effectiveness and improve Customer Service.
