Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate emergency medicine physician to join our healthcare team within a correctional facility. This role is critical in delivering urgent and emergent medical care to a diverse population of patients, including those with complex medical needs. You will work in a dynamic environment where your skills and expertise will make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to inmates with acute medical conditions, injuries, and life-threatening situations.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatments while maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Oversee triage and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Educate inmates on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
- Support the facility's mission of rehabilitation and provide a compassionate approach to healthcare.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified or eligible in emergency Medicine.
- Active medical license in Georgia
- Previous experience in emergency medicine, preferably in a correctional setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and equitable care to all patients.
- Ability to thrive in a challenging and sometimes high-stress environment.
