License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required. Specialist or doctorate degree in related field preferred.
Experience Qualifications: Five years experience effectively integrating technology into K-12 schools to support teaching and learning required; three years school-based and/or district-based leadership experience preferred.
Skills Qualifications: Strong leadership skills; ability to communicate with others in an effective and professional manner; knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies and professional learning practices; skilled in identification and evaluation of technology-based strategies for instructional support; ability to facilitate development of strategies, processes, and evaluation for implementation of technology-based instructional support systems; skilled in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups; ability to coordinate strategies, processes, and evaluation across departments and divisions; ability to serve as a positive and professional representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools; ability to work productively with colleagues, teachers, administrators, and executive leadership; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; and ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of an effective digital ecosystem that supports the district?s productivity goals and vision for teaching and learning.?
1. Support the Executive Director of Instructional Technology and Innovation in the cross-divisional development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive digital ecosystem.
a. Identify district trends in the implementation of digital applications, platforms, and tools and the tasks and milestones required to affect productivity and classroom transformation to support the district's vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
2. Collaborate with district and local school leaders to develop targeted, data-driven goals, strategies, and processes for the implementation of a comprehensive digital ecosystem.
3. Direct all aspects of the digital ecosystem implementation process, including technical implementation, change management, communication, and training/professional learning.
4. Lead the identification and evaluation of instructional technology hardware to support business needs, strategic priorities, and teaching and learning goals.
a. Identify and evaluate hardware based on its instructional value and support of student engagement and achievement.
b. Lead the development, implementation, and sustainability of a comprehensive technology marketplace that showcases vetted, approved, and aligned hardware to strategic priorities, instructional frameworks, and instructional technology best practices.
c. Collaborate cross-divisionally and cross-departmentally to ensure effective support, resources and training on instructional technology hardware are available.
5. Direct the implementation, evaluation, and support of Instructional Solutions applications.
a. Collaborate cross-divisionally and cross-departmentally to implement and evaluate applications that support teaching and learning goals.
b. Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure effective implementation of applications into the GCPS digital environment.
c. Lead Instructional Solutions team in ensuring that digital solutions are implemented effectively and with efficacy.
6. Lead the communication of the department's direction.
a. Communicate the Instructional Technology Solutions' alignment to the district's vision, mission and strategic priorities to both internal and external stakeholders.
b. Act as a liaison between the Instructional Technology Solutions department and other divisions and departments to ensure initiative alignment, partnership development, and effective communication.
c. Demonstrate continuous improvement process to ensure efficacy of all aspects of ecosystem.
7. Manage program area.
a. Manage budget and prepare budgetary requests and recommendations for the Instructional Technology Solutions department.
b. Provide leadership and support to personnel in the Instructional Technology Solutions office.
c. Lead continuous quality improvement efforts for the department.
8. Applies principles of Continuous Quality Improvement across all functional areas of responsibility.
9. Keeps Executive Director of Instructional Technology and Innovation appraised of significant changes, events and actions in the Instructional Technology and Solutions department.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
