Senior Director of Operations - RWI

Atlas Roof & Wall Insulation - a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation - specializes in the manufacture of quality engineered polyiso insulation, specialty products, and accessories. Atlas Roof Insulation & Wall Insulation products lead the industry in polyiso insulation boards and facer technology and performance in commercial and residential buildings.

Atlas Manufacturing Roof and Wall division is seeking a highly skilled Director of Operations.

This position will be responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective product manufacturing, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability targets are consistently met or exceeded.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with other functions, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align manufacturing activities with sales forecasts, demand planning, and budgetary constraints.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
• Manage and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems.
• Drive the culture to achieve world-class safety performance.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing, and actively seek to leverage new technologies or methodologies to improve manufacturing processes.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong leadership and management abilities, with the ability to build and motivate a diverse team.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies that drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and technologies, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in data analytics.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and best practices, such as ISO 90001.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices within the manufacturing industry.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or similar technical field.
• MBA is preferred.
• Proven experience in senior business roles, with a minimum of 15 years in manufacturing operations and 10 years in senior leadership positions.
• Strong track record of successfully managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
• Experience is implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
• Strong computer literacy, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
