Job Summary:
The Director of Revenue will be responsible for overseeing the company's revenue model, ensuring its accuracy, alignment with business goals, and providing actionable insights to drive growth. This role will work with the current team to support the end-to-end revenue cycle and collaborate with key teams, including Revenue Cycle Management, Finance, Sales, and Operations, to ensure the effective recognition, forecasting, and analysis of revenue. The Director of Revenue will serve as a link between finance, revenue operations, and other departments, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across the organization. This role requires a combination of onsite and hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Model Ownership: Continuously improve the company's revenue model, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and accurately reflects business operations, including pricing strategies, contracts, and revenue recognition policies. Work with cross-functional teams to align the model with evolving business strategies and market conditions.
- Revenue Recognition and Compliance: Ensure that all revenue recognition practices comply with GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), and any other relevant standards. Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure that revenue is recognized appropriately across all revenue streams.
- Revenue Forecasting and Planning: Lead the development and execution of revenue forecasting processes, providing accurate and timely revenue projections based on historical performance, market trends, and business initiatives. Partner with senior management and other key stakeholders to incorporate strategic goals into the revenue forecast.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Ensure smooth collaboration between Accounting and Revenue Cycle Management, Finance, and other departments to streamline processes and minimize discrepancies.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: Provide regular reports and analysis on revenue performance, highlighting key trends, variances, and opportunities for growth. Work closely with the Finance team to analyze revenue metrics, KPIs, and customer-related data to identify areas for improvement.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Serve as the key liaison between Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Sales, and other operational teams, ensuring alignment on revenue-related initiatives, targets, and process improvements. Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to resolve issues and optimize revenue processes.
- Strategic Insights and Business Partnering: Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on the revenue landscape, including competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and market opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor to Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on how their activities impact the revenue model and financial outcomes.
- System and Process Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance the tools, systems, and processes used to track, report, and analyze revenue. This may include identifying opportunities for automation, upgrading technology platforms, or refining existing processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Revenue-related Risk Management: Identify and manage risks related to revenue recognition, billing errors, customer disputes, and non-compliance with tax regulations. Develop mitigation strategies and processes to reduce the company's exposure to revenue-related risks.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for revenue modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Promote a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced certification is preferred.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or revenue operations, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role overseeing revenue modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
- Extensive experience with revenue recognition under GAAP, particularly ASC 606.
- Proven track record of developing and managing complex revenue models in a growth-oriented, multi-channel environment.
- Experience in managing the revenue cycle, including working with billing, collections, and customer service teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), as well as revenue recognition and billing systems.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High proficiency with Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with business intelligence software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management processes and systems, including order to cash and billing.
