Noodle & Boo is looking for a talented Controller to join its Leadership team. This role will have high impact into essential, business-critical processes, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and optimizing our supply chain. Our Controller will be responsible for Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain and Logistics, providing leadership and analysis of financial results and forecasts, business initiatives, and scenario analysis.
The Finance team is made up of problem solvers - focusing on enhancing Noodle & Boo's growth and profitability. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting and financial functions
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
- Maintain and review the general ledger, ensuring all entries are in compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Conduct and review reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and providing backup documentation
- Manage cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Oversee inventory controls, including cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation with financial records
- Prepare and monitor budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing actionable insights to improve financial performance
- Track capital expenditures, asset depreciation, and prepare fixed asset schedules
- Review and approve expense reports, payable invoices, and capital expenditures
- Conduct financial analysis to support management decisions and evaluate new manufacturing initiatives or projects
- Support regulatory compliance, including tax filings, reporting requirements, and adherence to internal controls
- Supervise and mentor administrative, purchasing, supply chain and accounting teams
- Lead or participate in special projects aimed at improving efficiencies, reducing costs, and enhancing internal controls
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in a controller role within the manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and standard costing methods
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA designation preferred
- 5-7 years proven experience in a controller role within the manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and standard costing methods
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
