SUMMARY: The Community Safety team is looking for a manager dedicated to providing safe and secure learning environments for all students, through ensuring district protocols, training and overall emergency preparedness at all levels of the organization. As a member of the department leadership team, the Community Safety Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Community Safety to ensure the implementation of our community safety strategy through clear procedures and staff development. The Emergency Preparedness & Training Manager will work collaboratively, and with the Director, the Daily Operations Manager, district leaders and community partners to ensure district safety protocols, trainings and evaluation systems are operating in alignment with the district strategic plan and operational goals. The ideal candidate has experience in K-12 systems, understands the role and responsibility of the district safety teams and has experience supervising highly effective teams. Anchored to the core belief that school safety is in service of creating equitable learning environments for all, the ideal candidate has a systems-lens and a community-based approach to safety.

The Manager of Emergency Preparedness & Training is responsible to design, coordinate and evaluate the safety training program district-wide. Responsibilities include training for officers, students, district staff and leadership; coordinating safety protocols, drills, exercises and tests; and establishing and auditing Emergency Response Plans.
