Job Overview:
The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will establish and provide critical financial data and records related to the company's profitability, financial position, and liquidity. This role is pivotal in helping management make informed decisions by analyzing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Result Areas:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, or anomalies that may require attention.
- Prepare various types of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements for internal management and external stakeholders such as investors, lenders, and regulators.
- Make recommendations on mergers and acquisitions based on financial data.
- Oversee financial accounting objectives.
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
- Record all financial transactions such as sales and purchases.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments within the organization based on historical performance and projected business plans.
- Review actual performance against budgeted targets throughout the year, liaising with department heads to understand any deviations from planned expenditures or revenues.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations/standards and assess their impact on company operations.
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Establish and identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage and control department performance via reports, tracking systems, and surveys.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree is preferred.
Languages:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years of experience working in accounting or financial management roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced analytical skills coupled with sound judgment when interpreting complex financial data such as budget variances and trends reports.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the company's industry.
